Mission Statement
Goodman Homes, Inc.’s mission is to reduce recidivism and incarceration, improve the outcomes of formerly incarcerated individuals, and build healthier communities. Goodman Homes, Inc. seeks to accomplish this mission in a three-fold approach: (1) to advocate for fair and just policies that: reduce crime, decrease the use of incarceration, and serve the needs and well-being of formerly incarcerated people; (2) to provide housing, services, and resources to rebuild broken men and women affected by the criminal justice system that improves outcomes; and (3) to build healthier communities by returning motivated, mentally prepared, and high character men and women from incarceration to crime-ridden neighborhoods to serve as ambassadors for change. In brief, Goodman Homes, Inc. is a support network, a connection to services and support, and an advocate for just and fair policies.
Vision
No person imprisoned or those released following confinement should lose the rights and attributes of citizenship. Each sentence for a crime committed is a temporary measure aimed at meeting certain societal goals and must ultimately be aimed at reintegration into the community. No person should be perpetually punished.
Values
We value life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all. Our work is predicated upon genuine care, concern, and respect for those in prison, those at risk of incarceration, and their families. Our success is rooted in integrity, teamwork, faith, professionalism, creativity, and the quality of our service. We sincerely desire that those in prison not have their lives and minds permanently stained by crime or the criminal justice system, hoping that following encounters with the criminal justice system, we may assist in their transformations and engage the society in which we all live as productive citizens.
